Here are "The Liddler Fiddlers", a group of talented youngsters at an Elementary School in Arkansas that take every chance they can to show off their new talent.  They are performing here for their local Leadership Institute.    The school district and the local business community keep the students' interest in music high by inviting them out to perform for local luncheons and business meetings.

Their teacher, Ms. Ellis, has been a great supporter of music education in her school district.  She has requested several grants from Reading, Writing & Rhythm to have instruments for pilot programs for her music students.  She gives every child in her school a chance to try a musical instrument.  She continually challenges her community for donations of all kinds.  Her local Wal-Mart has committed funds to cover supply expenses for her instruments.  And a local man has agreed to keep her violins repaired.    Many parents step in to help, too, to provide all the kids in this community with a chance to play an instrument and develop a love for music.

Our charity commends this entire town in Arkansas for making music an important part of their students' learning experience.  Reading, Writing & Rhythm is gratified that our grants have helped to build this kind of community and school support for music education.

(Wynonna on joining the lineup for Chely's 6th Annual Benefit in June):
"I'm thrilled to be a part of this amazing event for the kids. Chely has truly created magic in communities across the nation with her organization 'Reading, Writing and Rhythm,' and I am excited to have the opportunity to join the line-up this year. Anyone like Chely who takes time to help our kids, is a true star in my book and I'm thrilled to help her in this endeavor. It will definitely be the party of the year!"

"Music allows children to dream. It gives them a way to express themselves. It gives them hope, inspiration, passion and laughter. This is why keeping music in schools is so crucial."

- Keith Urban (Capitol Records)

"Having children of my own and being part of the music industry, I am made aware daily of the importance of music in our lives. Music is just one of the things that brings our family together and I'm delighted to have been part of the Reading, Writing & Rhythm? event to share the magic of music with students and our schools."                                            -  Amy Grant

"Over the course of my career, I've been involved with various organizations that work to promote music education in schools throughout the country. Armed with the proven statistics that exposure to music consistently enables children to do better on SAT scores, I have been one of the several artists to go to Washington D.C. to ask Congress to eliminate the cuts in music education in public schools. Organizations like Chely's are more vital now than ever to help the current generation of youth perform scholastically to the best of their ability.

- Pop recording artist, Richard Marx

"Diamond Rio...Making sure that the arts remain a part of the education process is an issue that is very important to us...We were honored to be a part of Chely's event and applaud her for championing this cause."
